Rewritten from a Journal ( August 25, 2009)

“When you read this I hope you’re doing okay :) I hope you’re trying really hard to please God and your family around you. Remember that whatever you’re struggling with that God will never give you something you can’t handle. Rejoice, for you are a lucky person and God has amazing things in store for you. And I hope you stop and think about the people who helped you get here and pray for them. Be thankful! You are blessed. Share your sunshine with everyone around you. Tell Mom and Dad you love them and you’re so thankful for this opportunity! BE THANKFUL & give thanks.”

I would change one thing about this… I am a FORGIVEN person, not lucky.

Since being out of Joshua, it has been a battle everyday to take up my cross and follow Christ. But I wouldn’t want to be fighting for anyone else than our LORD and Savior. Lord have mercy on me, forgive me for I am a sinner, restore me with your grace and love. Use me exactly how you want to use me; even if it means leading by example and serving others quietly. I only want to live for you Jesus, and I can’t do it on my own. Teach me, mold me, break me, forgive me… 

I love you Lord, more than anyone. at least that’s what I want to get to someday.

“My Chosen One”

“I chose you before the foundation of the earth to be My princess. I will wait for you until you are ready to start living the amazing plans I have for you. I know that you don’t know where to begin or how to become what I’ve called you to be, so let Me teach you day by day. Start recognizing who I am: Kings of kings and Lord of lords. The Lover of your soul. When the two of us meet alone together every day, I will show you how to let go of the things in your life that are holding you back from the blessings that I want to give you. Remember, My child, just as I have chosen you, I have given you the choice to represent Me to the world. If you are willing, I am here to give you all you need to complete your calling.”

A good friend once told me, “the christian life isn’t meant to just be struggle after struggle…god encourages, rewards, provides just when we need it.”

I’ve come to realize that living not of this world is a daily challenge and a fight to pick up my cross daily and follow Jesus, but just when you think you can’t take much more, and just when you start to get discouraged God brings someone along to encourage you, or he provides new friends, or he reveals to us once again that he’s always with us and never departs from us. God is faithful, and in the perfect, holy sense; the kind of faithfulness that none of us imperfect humans could ever possess and provide. He will never fail you. And just relearning this and revisiting this thought process every once in  while blows my mind. 

When’s the last time you just enjoyed the company of someone else. Not even talking, just genuinely sitting with another person and being at peace. It’s one of the most refreshing things to me and I realized that last night while sitting on the beach at cardiff with two brothers in christ. Nothing even needs to be said. Just the company is enough. Community and family is what we’re called to form as Christians, and once you’ve experienced it, you’ll understand the importance of it. Build your community, pray on it, and get messy. Be involved with your families lives, because who knows, you may be the break in life that they  need, the peaceful, relaxing coffee chat that they need to encourage them and refresh them. Let God use you, in the simplest ways.

I am so thankful, there is so much to thank god for everyday, and to be honest i can go somedays without thinking much of it, but then god gently reminds me of all he has given me and all that i have to grateful for. 

How do you view God? He should be a father figure to you, who loves you more than anyone in this world, who’s always with you, who’s patient beyond anything we’ve ever experienced before, who’s jealous for your time and thoughts…who has the most incredible plan for your life if you just surrender your life to him, your plans, your passions, your down falls, your sins, your time, your EVERYTHING. This is not easy, and its a struggle everyday, and we fail all the time, but thats what is so incredible about God, his grace is sufficient, he’s already forgiven us, and wants us…he desires a relationship with us… wow.
